The Story

Design
Narrative

The Archive repurposes a 1970s warehouse in the Ari neighborhood, preserving its industrial bones while inserting the warmth necessary for sustained creative work. The original concrete columns and steel trusses were sandblasted and sealed, their imperfections celebrated. A steel mezzanine — designed to feel like scaffolding that never came down — creates a second floor for focused work. Below, the main studio benefits from enormous north-facing windows that flood the space with even, shadow-free light. The library corner, with its floor-to-ceiling oak shelving and worn leather armchairs, provides the counterpoint: a space for thinking rather than making.
